Girls nights are so fun and so important. It's a great opportunity to get together, catch up and spend quality time together. This particular girls night was organized by my good friend Fiona (ps you can catch her on the new FX show Wilfred next year!) We all love Indian food so she spoke to the owner of one of our favorite Indian restaurants in Los Angeles Flavor of India and convinced him to let us do a cooking class there. So fun!!
Check out the gorgeous spices!:
The owner Chef Darshan walked us through how to make some of our favorite Indian dishes and gave us his personal recipes! Here he is with interacting and teaching us how to make Indian Tea.

Here is Fiona getting a lesson on how to make Malia Kofta (a fried vegetable ball):
And of course I had to get in on the action! Check me out making Chana Masala (chickpeas in a tomato sauce) with Darshan:
The night was fantastic and the food even better! The restaurant is located in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd and is so quaint, romantic and comfy! Darshan makes everyone feel like they are at home! I'll be posting some of the recipes, but if you are nearby, I highly suggest getting over to the restaurant and trying it for yourself! Make sure you order the began bhartha (smashed roasted eggplant with tomatoes and onions), malia kofta (veggie balls in a creamy tomato sauce) and tofu tikka masala (tofu in a saffon tomato sauce) and don't forget the garlic naan! Those are some of my favorites, but honestly everything at this restaurant is fabulous!
Here are the girls with Darshan. We had such a great time. Darshan now does Indian cooking classes for groups with a minimum of 8 people so give them a call to set up your next party!
And if you don't live in LA, call up your favorite local restaurant and see if they'll do a class for your group. Chances are they will and you'll have a ton of fun!
xoxo

How fun! I always see menus for Flavor of India, but haven't tried them yet!
