Living in Los Angeles, the Oscars are treated like the Super Bowl. Streets are closed, grocery stores empty, bets are placed and you better have a spot on someone's couch reserved! The play by play is the who's wearing what. And yes, sometimes it includes rewinding and replaying in slow motion to catch all the details. It's a shallow holiday here in tinseltown, but it's one I proudly partake in. If you are going to have an Oscar bash, treat it the same way you would a football game, it'll be a lot of fun! Serve champagne and wine instead of beer and serve super yummy appetizers people can snack on the whole show. Remember the show is long so keep water handy too.
As for the movies, my personal favorites were The Kings Speech and The Fighter. So good! Take this poll and see what other people think:

I thought Winters Bone was one of the most incredible films I have ever seen. Its as as if they just dropped a camera in the Ozarks and captures these lives in real time. The acting was superb. The filming- like paintings, and as far as the story I never knew what was going to happen. It wont win a statue- but it won my respect and effected me deeply.
Anyway cant wait for red carpet coverage!!
