I had the great pleasure of co-hosting a bridal shower for my oldest friend this past weekend. I met Jennifer just before we started kindergarden. She is one of those people in my life I depend upon most. It was so much fun to plan this shower! We decided to go super simple and elegant with it. So, here are the deets:
Colors: yellow, grey and hints of green
The tablescape:
Flowers: The centerpieces are made from flowers I picked up at the Downtown Flower Mart in Los Angeles, and my uber talented Mother arranged them. The flowers were: white hydrangeas, yellow lilies, white and yellow roses and mint. Yes, mint; I love using it in floral arrangements! It smells so good and adds a nice unique touch.
Place-mats: I used yellow and grey scrap-booking paper for place-mats and if you can tell, I stamped "love" in green ink in the bottom right corner.
Favors: Jennifer's Mom found those adorable yellow pots and planted sweet basil and succulents in them.
Guest list: 32 of her closest friends and family.
Itinerary: A lovely luncheon and unwrapping gifts of course : ) I also had a manzanita branch tree with blank tags that we had the guests write advice and well wishes on.
Drink menu: Bellini's (champagne with peach puree, pictured below), iced tea, mint lemonade, and white wine.
Food menu:
Deviled eggs, my secret recipe for marinated tri-tip (yes, sometimes I cook meat...) served with horseradish, rolls, zucchini goat cheese roll-ups, grilled eggplant caprese on a stick, orzo pasta salad, rainbow salad and fruit salad served with creme fraiche.
Dessert menu:
Lemon cake with cream cheese frosting (above picture), chocolate "dirt" pots, sugar cookies with coconut frosting, brownies (made by my fabulous sister in-law!), cheesecake bars and fruit.
Me and Jennifer:
So fun! Check back the next few days as I add more recipes : )

Thanks Lindsay and Lisa! I thought of the place-mat idea for my friend Autumn's shower when I wanted something square and it is now my go-to for adding pops of color to anything!
